La seconde: assimilate and memorise

methodological workshops

  • To give useful advice to best utilise one’s memory
  • To prepare memorisation in class and at home
  • To learn to assimilate knowledge

Principles used until the bac:

In seconde, the methodology will make the difference. In mathematics, the student must be able to organise his/her reasoning and present it according to extremely precise regulations.

In French, the student must know how to summon his/her knowledge and structure his/her thoughts. These qualities, which are required from the end of troisième on, are one of the keys to success in the baccalauréat.

Simple and immediately useful recommendations:

The teacher gives a maximum of advice through practical case studies:

  • How to effectively take notes?
The teacher asks the students to start taking notes at the beginning of the workshop, then targets each student’s strong points and weaknesses.
  • How to organise his/her classes?
The students bring in one of their lessons and work on a methodical organisation of the page.
  • How to assimilate knowledge?
From the preparation of a review sheet, students learn the most effective techniques for memorising their lessons.

Each workshop brings together 2 to 6 students for 2 hours.
